Sunburn, Yay!

I went to the US Open on Wednesday, and in between paying $2.50 for a bottle of water, getting crushed to death while trying to walk past the putting green at the same time that Tiger Woods was there, and getting evangelized by a very nice man (He kept it brief, and gave us some golf tips.) I managed to get a sunburn.

And not just any sunburn, oh no, mutant sunburn.

My shirt had a scoop neck in the front and back, so I look like I'm wearing some kind of strange bib in bright lobster red.  Except for the little white circle on my chest where my medal was, and the lines from chain for my crucifix.  The front's a little better than my back, doesn't hurt much at all really.  That's probably because the sun was behind me when the majority of the burn happened.  (This was when I sat with the drinks that we paid upwards of two dollars for while Mom was inside the merchandise tent for an hour.  She bought one thing.  I like to died.)

I'm not sure if the burn going to be gone by the time Ashley and I leave for New York on Tuesday, but either way I'm going to look pretty funny at the beach.  What with my strange bib thing and farmer's tan.  My arms were a little burned too, but that was gone by the next morning.  My face took a little longer.

Which, by the way...

I can understand about my neck.  My chin was casting a shadow; it didn't get as much sun.  That makes sense, right?  So, what's up with the lower half of my face?

Also, what's the deal with legs, huh?  Why must they be so difficult?  They got just as much sun as the rest of me, and yet...

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go back to slathering myself in aloe.

Friggin'...I don't even like golf!

1 I'm sorry to hear about your sunburn ...the US Open is evil.  It causes there to be more buses on the road in these very delicate early driving ventures of mine.  Plus the traffic is terrible.  And then there's this whole other dimension where sunburn is just evil all by itself.
